Three Picnic Concerts
Friend-Raisers for the Leelanau County Poor Farm Barn
Who: The Leelanau County Historic Preservation Society with co-sponsors including the Leelanau Historical Society & Museum, Row-by-Row <row-by-row.org>, and the Empire Area Community Center.
Why: To make new friends who support the rehabilitation and public use of the old Leelanau County Poor Farm Barn. Help us put this Historic Community Treasure to good use!
Where: At the Barn!
1110 WEST BURDICKVILLE ROAD, MAPLE CITY, MI 49664
North side, Myles Kimmerly Park, the Poor Farm Barn is located just east of Maple Valley Nursing Home
Free Admission. The Empire Area Community Center’s Emergency Fund will be on-hand to accept donations that help people in need throughout our region.
First Concert:

Country and Folk Music performed by:
Rita Hosking and Sean Feder
California singer-songwriters in country/folk traditions.

Andre Villoch
Talented singer-songwriter known throughout Northwest Michigan.
Second Concert:

Classic Rock and New Wave Music performed by:
Go North!
John Mauk on guitar, Denny Richards on bass, and Sheila Brown on drums.
Third Concert
Wednesday, August 13th
5:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Contemporary Orchestral & Big Band Music performed by:
The Brass Quintet
A program of the Benzie Area Symphony Orchestra
And
TC Sings! – a cappella singers
Food Service: “Heard It’s Good Tacos & More” will be on-site offering $3.00 Tacos and dessert cakes.
Special Features: Yard Games provided, Barn tours, Row-by-Row Garden, and the Leelanau Historical Society’s antique Model A Ford.
Everyone’s invited to Picnic at the barn! Join us on the grass and enjoy some great music by professional musicians. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and a picnic if you wish. Sit under the canopies, or in the sun, and dance when the music moves you! Sing Along! Enjoy!
