The Poor Farm Barn is newly painted and sports a sign posted high on the south elevation. Our “Donate a Gallon of Paint” fundraising campaign was successful and we were able to cover the cost of the paint from those donations. Watch for future specific funddraising initiatives for specific projects that are in the planning states. continues in hopes of rebuilding our funding base to complete several smaller rehabilitation projects inside the barn.
LCHPS e-newsletters, which will continue to come out every four months (February, June and October), will keep you informed of our progress.
We look forward to reinstituting public programs when it is safe to do so. We will be meeting with several members of the Leelanau County Parks and Recreation Commission to discuss future uses for the barn. We will also be exploring various avenues to solicit public input on this topic. Let us hear from you with your ideas or plans by emailing us at [email protected].
